Pancakes for breakfast thanks to Karl’s sister, Diane, just before Luke headed off for his last day of Year 1 and the rest of us packed and cleaned at an incredible speed.

Auf Wiedersehen to our home of the last 17 years! We squeezed our 5
packs (Karl was going to bring his gear in a box and pack his pack at the hotel
but we just couldn’t fit so he packed his pack on our front verandah…mmm Mr Last Minute!) and 5 day packs and sundry
items for my parents’ pantry and washing machine and drove off down our street.
Adios, farewell, adieu, la gom….
First stop Cilom Airport Lodge 398 Melrose Drive, Tullamarine, Victoria, Australia!
How exotic! Although it was close
to 9 PM when we arrived, we made use of the swimming pool which was THE best
thing for all of us, for our tired bodies and minds, a great de-stressor. It was a comfortable night but of course
sleep was fitful because of the incredible pace we’d lived life at over the past
weeks. It was a bit of a squeeze but we all had our own beds and plenty of food
to eat! It was sort of fun staying in
our own city in a hotel: it felt a bit luxurious by Keesman standards!
