Tim, Luke and I headed off for a morning walk to the "Recycle Park" as we affectionately know our local park because of the great play area made from old building materials. It is big enough to feel you are away from the hustle and bustle of the high street and breathing fresh air. It is well utilised and has some great outdoor gym equipment. Then we joined the familiar queue at Aldi for our daily shop. Yes, daily shop, as our fridge is a small bar fridge and our kitchen is tiny.
As Tim's ear infection seems to be lingering, despite the week of
antibiotics, I decided that we should follow it up and see the whole
thing to an acceptable conclusion. So we headed back to the Royal Free
Hospital where we'd previously gone.
Yeah!! That's me!! Free coffee in hand. |
As we headed up Haverstock Hill Road to the hospital from Belsize
station I saw a sign outside a nicely renovated pub which said: " The
George: Free coffee if your name is Helena"!!! I thought I would see if
this offer applied to people called Helen as well. It was my lucky day
as I don't always carry my passport with me, but did have it today, so
I could prove that indeed my name is Helen! I was given a lovely take
away cappuccino! Much as I would have liked to sit in the beautiful and
homely pub, Tim and I needed to continue to the hospital.

VERY nice! |
The service was pretty good and we saw a GP in the A and E department who suggested a few options. We decided the decongestant option would be best as his ear drum was still red and bulging. Being the NHS and Tim being under 18, the medication was free as well although it meant waiting in quite a queue at the pharmacy.

We were so tired when we finally got home mid afternoon that we rested and played with Luke and that was that. It was quite a humid day as well which I always think drains me of energy. A more settled afternoon, meant earlier dinner and the chance to watch the rest of Prince Caspian with Luke!
Poor tim, hopefully it's better quickly now. A good day to stay in for the afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteAt home we'd just pop back to the GP...not sure how it all works here!!
