16 March 2015 - Urgup and a wonderful cafe!

And so we are on the move again!  Our last night bus for a while...as far as we know!  Initially, the thought of overnight travel was daunting with the kids, but we are into the swing of things and use the days well, make sure we have access to free left luggage, warm cafes with Wi-Fi and a treat or two.

Farewell to our cave!
Map of Turkey...it is a big country and we have only seen a portion of it.

As the weather was getting colder and sleet was in the air, we decided on a brief bus trip to a nearby town, Urgup.  Once again this was a place of caves and dwellings and mindblowing landscapes.  The bus journey up extremely steep hills and tight turns was a joy ride in itself!  Even with the grey wintry sky, the colours of the rocks and valley are like a beautiful collection of Derwent pencils!

Somehow the cars look out of place in this landscape!

More apartment like caves here than Goreme.

Top of the lookout!

This friendly dog showed us around!  The Littlest Hobo from 1970's (?) TV show.

Super duper steps to caves made easy access.

On arrival back at Goreme, we went in search of a free Wi -Fi-good coffee-warm-cafe...and found Oze Coffee which ticked all the boxes!  The iced  chocolates for the kids were MEGA and our coffees were excellent.

So, it is off to the night bus for us shortly...yawning at the thought!  In the meantime, Karl is having an additional cappuccino to earn our "stay in the cafe" rights!!!

After the Wi-Fi was suddenly cut off at  Oze Coffee Cafe, nothing to do with us overstaying our welcome, we packed up and moved to the next cafe!!!  Our other favourite: Ottoman Kebap.  Our family drawing from the other night now graces the wall along with pictorial journeys of other visitors to the cafe.  Luke wants it to be there for his children to see!

It was hard to know which way up it should go, so Luke's camel got to stand upright and the rest of it is "Downunder"!

Industrious kids after dinner...staying just long enough to be good patrons!
