As Luke went to sleep at 5 PM yesterday, with no dinner, it was no surprise that he came into our room at 5.30 this morning! After his display yesterday, I was praying today would be different as the basic schooling bit is important. Upon reflection about his behaviour, I was thinking he is probably finding this travelling stressful and having no friends compounds this. He was delighted to see all the toys left at this accommodation and immediately found his favourite teddy: "Turkish Delight" and played with it constantly. For a couple of hours, Luke and I played Skip-Bo and with his toys. It was a good start to the day.

Our apartment is up there somewhere! |
School was much better this morning and I am trying some new strategies with spelling which worked well but writing paragraphs is a struggle.

It is a gated community - Albatros apartments - doesn't show how steep the hill is! |
We set out for a walk along the other side of Bodrum Castle. The beach was all gravel and we wondered if they ship in sand for summer. According to Mustafa, the winter population is 50000 but in summer it increases hugely. This must be renovation time as the buildings are being spruced up in preparation for the busy summer season.

Sparkling Aegean |
The Aegean sea is so clear and we can imagine the colour would be gorgeous under blue skies. There were several fishermen trying their luck in the clear waters.

My 3 bollards - some poses better than others! |
The little lanes and alleyways wind around and around past many really ancient stone buildings. The little gardens are coming to life now that spring is nearly here and red poppies and tulips can be seen among the daisies. There are brown hens and their roosters in little yards and talkative cats and lazy dogs.

Dog on duty! |
We got disorientated and temporarily lost trying to get back to our place but in no time found landmarks and were back on track.

Typical lane dwelling - looks ancient! |
We spotted a baby owl on a house roof near to us so we'll keep an eye out for it again. SO cute!
